YouTube Music has introduced two new ways to discover songs on its platform that started to roll out this week. These tools include an AI-generated radio feature and a new Shazam-like tool that helps recognise the name of a song.
The AI-generated conversational radio feature is quite similar to that of Spotify and Amazon Music’s AI playlist-generation tools currently in the testing phase.
This radio feature is now available to YouTube Music premium users in the United States. Those who have access to the feature can create their own custom radio station by entering written prompts about what they want to listen to.

Users can also click on the ‘Ask for music any way you like’ card on the app’s homepage and there will be a conversational UI where you can enter a prompt or select a suggested one.
The feature is currently available for selected users only, while according to YouTube it will bring it to more users in the future.
Additionally, the song recognition feature is somewhat similar to Shazam (the most famous song recognition tool) but a little more updated version as it helps you find a song by just singing or humming while Shazam works when you play the actual song.
Users can search songs with the help of sound in the app catalogue by clicking on ‘search’ you will see an icon that will notify you to find the name of any song.
Previously, this song detection tool was available to selected premium users only but is now rolling out to all iOS and Android users.
