EV charging stations expansion in Pakistan
This partnership marks a historic moment for both Puma Energy and Adaptive Electric to transform the E-Mobility infrastructure in Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Adaptive Electric CEO, Shaaf Mehboob said: “Highways, urban and semi-urban landscapes of Pakistan would soon have the capability to charge electric vehicles seamlessly in line with the vision of the Government of Pakistan.”
The government is playing a major role in facilitating stakeholders in this transformation and he lauded Prime Minster Shehbaz Sharif and his forward-thinking team in various departments including the National Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority (NEECA) for offering an attractive regulated tariff to EV charging operators.
Engineer Hijab Khan stated: “The Initial screening and technical feasibility of the sites has been completed and a rollout is expected later this year with 62 of the 624 being the first to be rolled out.
Previously, Adaptive Electric partnered with Schneider for the chargers, having plans to use the Schneider solution in the rollout as it provides cutting-edge technology and superb back-end support.
Puma Energy CEO, Fayaz Ahmad Khan stated: “Each vehicle charge will reduce the carbon footprint between 17-30% compared to an Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle.”
“Puma has sites strategically located across Pakistan in all geographies and some areas previously uninhabited by Electric vehicles will now see an uptake in such vehicle trafficking due to the provision of this infrastructure,” he added.
