All banks to remain closed on Wednesday in Pakistan

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will remain closed for public dealing on January 1, 2025 (Wednesday), which shall be observed as a bank holiday.

The central bank issued a notification on Friday, stating that all banks will remain closed on Wednesday.

“All banks / DFIs / MFBs shall, therefore, remain closed for public dealing on the aforementioned date. However, all employees of the banks / DFIs / MFBs will attend the office as usual,” SBP stated. 

Banks will be open as normal for public transactions on January 2 (Thursday).
