As the realm of virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR) headsets has witnessed the entry of numerous contenders fighting for dominance, Apple is said to be gearing up for a new variant of its Vision Pro headset.

Citing Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, TechCrunch stated that Apple is actively engaged in the development of two new versions of its Vision Pro.

Inspired by the significant sales of the original spatial computer, the iPhone maker is now looking to address the two most common criticised aspects of the Vision Pro: the hefty $3,500 price tag and the physical weight of the headset.

One of the purported Vision Pro models is said to be both lightweight and affordable, although it will not be an easy-to-attain task given the hurdles posed by the Trump administration's tariffs.

The second Vision Pro model Apple is currently up to will stand out for a rare property: the ability to be plugged into a Mac.

The Mac-connecting cut of Vision Pro would enable MacBook users to mirror their Mac displays onto the headset and use enterprise applications, turning Vision Pro into a powerful productivity tool.

The new, upcoming Vision Pro models are said to be a part of Apple CEO Tim Cook's vision to change how digital content is interacted with, introducing a lightweight augmented reality headset that people could comfortably wear for longer than usual.
