Samsung has partnered with Turkish Airlines to help passengers locate lost or delayed luggage using SmartThings Find, the company’s item-tracking platform.

The collaboration introduces the Smart Tagged Baggage Service, which integrates Samsung’s technology with the airline’s luggage management system.

Travellers can put a Galaxy SmartTag inside their bags when flying. If bags become lost or delayed, passengers can share a link containing the SmartTag's real-time location in the lost luggage report. This will enable Turkish Airlines' staff to track the location of the bag and recover it quickly.

Samsung also added a Change Device Image feature in SmartThings Find, which lets users upload a photo of their luggage to help airline staff identify the bag more easily when recovering it.

The service leverages Bluetooth Low Energy and ultra-wideband technology, supported by a network of more than 700 million Galaxy devices, to ensure that items can be found even when they are out of direct Bluetooth range.

It will further expand the Smart Tagged Baggage Service through partnerships with more airlines to enhance the baggage tracking experience in airports around the world.
