Apple may launch M4 MacBook Air this week with faster chip and better features

Apple is expected to introduce the MacBook Air with the M4 chip this week, bringing faster performance, better efficiency, and new features. If launched, the M4 MacBook Air will replace the M3 MacBook Air, which debuted in 2023.

This update would further strengthen Apple's thin-and-light laptop series, providing users with better power and battery life for everyday use and professional applications.

What to expect from Apple M4 MacBook Air?

The M4 MacBook Air is said to come with a 10-core CPU, an increase from an 8-core CPU on the M3 version. It might also be equipped with up to 32GB of RAM, as opposed to 24GB on the M3, enhancing multitasking and memory-intensive programs.

Additionally, the memory bandwidth is expected to increase from 100GB/s to 120GB/s, ensuring faster data processing and performance. 

Apple may also introduce a nano-texture display option for reduced glare, a 12MP Centre Stage webcam for clearer video calls, and an extra hour or two of battery life.

Apple just boosted base RAM on M2 and M3 MacBook Air models from 8GB to 16GB without a price hike, indicating a change in its MacBook series. This indicates that the M2 MacBook Air might be kept on shelves while the M3 model might be discontinued.

Furthermore, Amazon has already discounted the M3 MacBook Air by $50, indicating that retailers are clearing stock ahead of the M4 MacBook Air launch.
