As laptops have become an indispensable part of our lives, especially for students, the government has laid the foundations of a massive initiative, providing Karachi students with free laptops under a new Prime Minister Laptop Scheme.
Government spokesperson Raja Ansari confirmed that the initiative will be launched this December at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam, where the prime minister will personally hand over laptops to students.
The official added that the free laptop scheme for Karachi students reflects the federal government’s commitment to supporting Karachi’s youth and ensuring they have access to modern technology.
He stressed that the government is working closely with Sindh’s leadership to deliver projects on time and avoid delays.
On the sidelines of the laptop programme, plans are underway for 22 major development projects in Karachi that are worth a total of Rs334 billion. These projects are expected to improve infrastructure and upgrade the city’s facilities.
Despite limited federal representation in the province, it was outlined by Ansari that the government is determined to invest heavily in the city’s future.
Ansari stressed that cooperation, not competition, is the way forward, while emphasising that the federal government is willing to collaborate with the Sindh government and Karachi’s Mayor to bring meaningful change to the province.
