Apple is set to release a major update for visionOS 3, bringing new features to its Vision Pro headset. While fans were hoping for a new Vision Pro model in 2025, reports suggest Apple will focus on improving software instead.

According to Bloomberg, Apple is still working on a second-generation Vision Pro with an upgraded M-series chip, as well as a more affordable version of the headset.

However, these new models won’t arrive in 2025. The current Vision Pro, launched with the M2 chip in 2022, will continue to be Apple’s flagship headset for now.

Despite no new hardware this year, Apple is making big improvements to visionOS. The company recently introduced the visionOS 2.4 beta, which adds Apple Intelligence features, a Vision Pro app for iPhone, and the Spatial Gallery. This update is set for public release in April.

Notably, Apple is planning a “feature-packed” visionOS 3 update, expected to be announced at WWDC 2025. The company has invested heavily in the headset and aims to refine its software for better usability.

As Apple gears up for visionOS 3, users can expect exciting new features that improve the Vision Pro’s performance. More details will likely emerge at WWDC, where Apple traditionally announces its latest software advancements.
