After rolling out iOS 26 to the public about a month ago, Apple is now gearing up to release its second bug fix update, iOS 26.0.2, aimed at improving stability and performance across iPhones.
As per a report from MacRumors, it appears that Apple engineers have begun to conduct internal testing of iOS 26.0.2, based on some analytics data suggesting that it could be "coming soon."
There is little official information regarding the exact changes to be included in the new version. However, it will likely have standard bug fixes, security patches and performance fixes, so any bugs found since the launch of iOS 26 are addressed in the patch.
This year's released version included Apple's bold Liquid Glass redesign, with new elevation specifically to change the user interface and provide smoother animations.
This version was met with some minor glitches and performance issues that users have since pointed out in online forums/in discussions about iOS 26.0.2. Apple has determined this patch should focus on improving responsiveness and stability vs. any new features.
Moreover, the version iOS 26.0.2 will be the follow-up version to iOS 26.0.1, which was released last month and infrequently addressed issues in the iPhone 17. Based upon previous updates, we can assume that iOS 26.0.2 is expected to reach iPhone users within a week or two.
Alongside this new update, iOS 26.1 is currently in beta testing and expected to reach beta users by the end of October, which is expected to include a new swipe gesture in Apple Music and additional revisions to the system optimisations.
