Apple is getting closer to launching its smart glasses, which are expected to include the company’s latest AI technology while keeping the design simple and affordable. The smart glasses, codenamed N50, aim to offer users a lightweight, stylish device packed with useful smart features.
Apple has been developing smart glasses for decades, hoping to produce the industry's best augmented reality (AR) device. But real AR glasses are still a couple of years away from being available to ordinary consumers.
Meanwhile, Apple smart glasses will take more emphasis on incorporating smart features such as cameras, microphones, AI assistants, and speakers, like the Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses.
What to expect from Apple Smart Glasses?
The future Apple smart glasses are likely to have a sleek design without thick displays, thus being easy to wear on a daily basis. They will most probably have AI-based tools that can scan the surroundings and give the wearer important information.
. Privacy will be a top priority, and Apple might choose not to integrate cameras on the glasses, although this is still being debated. Overall, the glasses will provide smart features without overloading users, acting as a seamless transition to future AR devices.
Bloomberg tells us that Apple's smart glasses will function similar to a smart assistant, observing the environment and providing information to the wearer.
Yet it will not completely render an AR experience as of now. Apple is also considering privacy and may refrain from including cameras on the glasses, though it hasn't come to a conclusion on this matter.
Along with the smart glasses, Apple is developing new AirPods that will possibly include cameras to assist its "Visual Intelligence" technology. Both the Apple smart glasses and enhanced AirPods are rumored to release around 2027.
