Apple has announced that its store in Sydney, Australia's Westfield Hornsby, will be permanently closed as of October 4 at 5:00pm local time.
The decision follows a 14-year presence in the Hornsby community, as the company has decided not to renew its lease at the location.
Apple's Chatswood Chase store, which is undergoing renovations and is expected to reopen in October, will be the alternative for affected employees.
In order to improve the overall customer experience, the redesigned store will have a new layout, an Apple Pickup station for online orders, and a special space for Today at Apple sessions.
In 2025, the company opened new locations in Miami, Shenzhen, Osaka, and Bengaluru, but it also closed a few stores.
The Cupertino-based tech giant's dedication to giving customers the greatest experience is reflected in its strategic approach to retail.
Separately, Apple announced that on September 19 at 5 p.m. local time, its new store in Downtown Detroit will open for business.
Customers in the Detroit area will have a distinctive shopping experience at the new store, which will showcase Apple's recent products.
Apple will continue to have a significant presence in the Sydney region with six other locations still open.
