Although the iPhone 17 series has just arrived in the stores, rumours about next year’s iPhones are already circulating.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is gearing up to launch its first foldable iPhone in 2026, and it may be one of the thinnest and most expensive iPhones so far.
Apple foldable iPhone
Reportedly, the foldable iPhone may look like “two titanium iPhone Airs side by side”, which would mean it is a very thin and sleek device and that Apple is taking its hardware engineering to another level.
The use of a titanium chassis may also suggest robust durability, which is an important consideration for foldable devices.
Moreover, Mark Gurman reported that the foldable iPhone will primarily be produced in China, even though there was speculation earlier this year that Apple would move production to India for its next generation of products.
Gurman suggested that it is likely that at least some assembly would happen in China in keeping with Apple’s traditional philosophy in its supply chain.
Apple foldable iPhone price (expected)
In terms of pricing, the foldable iPhone is expected to start at $2000, with more previous leaks suggesting that it would fall within the $2100–2300 range.
If all of this remains true, this will put the foldable iPhone as one of the most premium products that Apple makes, alongside the Pro Max devices.
The release timeline points to September 2026 announcing alongside the iPhone 18 lineup, though availability could slip to October or November, similar to previous late-year launches like the iPhone X in 2017.
