Adding to the traction it has garnered ahead of its Awe Dropping event, Apple has launched developer beta 9 of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and other upcoming software updates to its flagship product lineups.

The spate of software updates across Apple products came just days before the iPhone 17 launch scheduled for September 9, which is next week.

The list of newly rolled out software updates includes macOS 26 Tahoe, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26.

According to TechJuice, the previous beta version for Apple's wide range of products was released on August 25, giving developers less than two weeks to test it.

Now, people enrolled in Apple’s developer programme can download beta 9 directly from the Software Update section on their devices.

This latest beta indicates that Apple is closing in on the final stages of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 for public release.

That said, there's a clear indication that the iPhone 17 series might come preinstalled with iOS 26, which means that the latest iOS update will be available to all users shortly after the launch event.

According to Apple’s changelog, beta 9's main focus is on stability and bug fixes rather than introducing new features. But that is not all to it, because the overall update cycle brings some remarkable tweaks, such as the new Liquid Glass interface, a redesigned Camera app, deeper ChatGPT integration, and improvements to major iOS apps.

For iPad users, iPadOS 26 introduces a multi-window system designed to enhance multitasking, allowing them to switch between tasks and bridging the gap between tablets and laptops.
