Asus announces Chromebook CR series with 360-degree flippable hinges

Asus has announced the next-generation Chromebook CR series of laptops, designed to meet the requirements of K-12 students.

This new lineup is equipped with up to 360-degree flippable hinges and has MIL-STD-810H military-grade durable, fingerprint-resistant builds.

Asus Chromebook CR series features

The Asus Chromebook CR series includes the Chromebook CR11 which features an 11.6-inch HD (1,366 x 768 pixels) IPS non-AG touchscreen with Corning Gorilla Glass and 250 units of brightness.

Meanwhile, the Chromebook CR12 model sports a 12.2-inch WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) screen with 300 nits of brightness.

Both models are available in anti-glare (AG) and non-AG variants, with support for USI 2.0 Stylus.

The Asus Chromebook CR series is powered by Intel N150 and Intel N250 CPU options, paired with up to 16GB of RAM, up to 128GB of eMMC onboard storage and Intel UHD graphics.

The Chromebook CR series supports up to full-HD (1080p) webcam shutters and 13MP world-facing cameras.

Each laptop comes equipped with two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and one HDMI 1.4b port, alongside a combined audio jack and a Kensington Lock.

The laptops houses 42Wh or 50Wh batteries, shipped with a 45W USB Type-C adapter. The laptops also boast inbuilt speakers and array mics.

Although pricing details have not been revealed, the Asus Chromebook CR series is expected to be decently priced.
