While this comes as a disappointment to those having Galaxy phones other than the latest Galaxy S25 FE, Samsung has debuted its latest Galaxy S25 variant, packing it with the newly developed Android 16-based One UI 8 update.
If you have a Galaxy S25, you must be desperate to get your hands on the One UI 8 update. But there's nothing to fret, while the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, or Galaxy S25 Ultra are not the first fortunate phones to get the latest One UI update, they've been granted a "yes" receiving it later in the month.
Since it's now concrete that Samsung’s latest Fan Edition device (Galaxy S25 FE) comes with One UI 8 by default, there's no point in delving into why other S25 owners will have to wait a bit longer.
However, it seems that Samsung wanted the S25 FE to shine as the first phone to showcase its updated software, most likely a marketing move to boost Galaxy S25 FE sales.
This marks a shift from last year, when the Galaxy S24 FE shipped with the same One UI 6.1.1 as the rest of the S24 series, instead of shipping with something exclusive.
The Galaxy maker has confirmed that the stable rollout for S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra models will begin in September. Unless that happens, the company is expected to push a huge monthly security update, possibly larger than 1GB, so you'd better make some space on your phone if there's a treasure trove of data in it.
Besides the top-tier Galaxy lineups, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and even the Galaxy S24 series are also in the queue, bracing for the arrival of the new One UI 8 update as it rolls out more widely later this month.
