BlackBerry has vanished from the smartphone market, leaving a void for competitors to fill the demand for physical keyboards.

This is the area a Chinese tech company, Unihertz, has once again pioneered by engineering its Titan 2 phone, reviving the lost vibes of the classic, original BlackBerry.

Like the beloved BlackBerry, the Titan 2 brings modern features to the table, with notable additions being 5G connectivity, a faster processor, and the latest Android 15 operating system.

The upgraded BlackBerry boasts a 4.5-inch display, slightly smaller than its predecessor, but with an improved resolution of 1,440 x 1,440 pixels. What better helps recall the old BlackBerry vive is its 2-inch secondary display on the back, complemented by 410 x 502 pixel resolution.

The secondary display is said to be designed to show notifications, widgets, or assist in framing selfies.

Unihertz has redesigned the physical QWERTY keyboard for enhanced comfort and responsiveness. The keys now support customizable shortcuts for both short and long presses, and users can swipe across the keyboard to scroll.

Unihertz Titan 2 specs, design and features

Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, the Titan 2 is capable of handling everyday tasks but is not designed for heavy gaming.

Though it lacks wireless charging, the handset is backed by a massive 5,050 mAh battery supporting 33W fast charging.

The Titan 2 includes several technical upgrades, such as Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an infrared blaster, dual-band GPS, and an FM radio, while retaining features like a fingerprint sensor and dual programmable shortcut buttons.

The back of the Titan 2 features a solid 50MP main camera and an 8MP telephoto zoom camera, along with a 32MP selfie camera.

The retail price for the Unihertz Titan 2 is expected to be around $400.
