With space technology making up a considerable portion of Pakistan's evolving technological infrastructure, GalaxySpace, China's renowned space tech giant, appears keen to invest in the country's space sector.

The expression of interest was made during a high-level meeting of the Chinese space firm and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The meeting was headed by GalaxySpace Chairman Xu Ming, focusing on investments and joint ventures in Pakistan’s growing space technology sector.

Throughout the meeting, the centre of discussion remained around collaborations on the development of satellite technologies, telecommunications, and satellite internet, ProPakistani reported.

Key areas of the discussion also touched upon a partnership between GalaxySpace and the Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), Pakistan’s national space agency, and private telecom companies.

“China remains Pakistan’s most reliable friend and strategic partner,” said the prime minister.

The delegation from GalaxySpace described its meetings with the IT ministry and Suparco as “highly productive” while stressing the potential for future cooperation, which might result in enhancing the technological infrastructure of both countries.

If it comes to fruition, the team-up will expand longstanding China-Pakistan ties into the field of space innovation and satellite technology.
