The Islamabad Science Festival 2025 wrapped up on Tuesday after two days of hands-on learning, student-led innovation, and public engagement at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA).

Organised by Campaignistan in collaboration with the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) and the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, the festival was held on Monday and Tuesday under the theme “Innovation for a Sustainable Future”.

Students from government schools, colleges, and universities across Islamabad took part, along with participants from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, highlighting the event’s growing national reach.

This year, various activities like interactive exhibitions, science shows, panel discussions, and technology demonstrations were arranged through the collaboration of various organisations like Tech Valley Pakistan, LearnOBots, IMARAT Group, ICCI, Tabadlab, Thar Education Alliance, and World Bank Pakistan.

Day One kicked off with a live science demonstration by the Pakistan Science Club, followed by a talk by Minister of State Wajiha Qamar, who emphasised that even school-going children from a public background demonstrate a lot of promise, though they get little exposure.

She announced that she will collaborate with Campaignistan to increase connectivity between schools, industry, startups, and government institutions to encourage innovative projects from school-going children.

One of the major attractions was the student exhibition, which featured inventions by young innovators in the areas of climate action, renewable energy, AI, women in STEM, health, and local initiatives.

The second day covered resilience and careers, with State Minister for Climate Change, Dr Shezra Mansab Ali Khan Kharal, advising the youngsters to take charge of adapting to climate change. Another session covered how a stronger partnership between academia and industry would serve students better in their careers.
