Microsoft has recently unveiled a new lineup of Copilot Plus PCs featuring a dedicated Copilot key on the keyboard, marking a significant upgrade to Windows keyboards in over three decades.
These newly launched keys feature a Progressive Web App (PWA) version of Copilot, distinct from previous integrated versions in Windows. Consequently, users cannot use Copilot to manipulate Windows 11 settings as before. Additionally, Microsoft has removed keyboard shortcuts to Copilot on these new Copilot Plus PCs.

While users anticipated Microsoft to introduce an alternative Copilot key that could integrate app shortcuts and AI features more effectively into Windows, the company opted for a PWA approach.
Microsoft has not provided specific reasons for these changes but indicated that the Copilot experience on Windows will now function as an app pinned to the taskbar. This allows for a traditional app experience, including the ability to resize, move, and snap windows — addressing feedback received during the Copilot preview in Windows.
Looking ahead, Microsoft plans to introduce more features to enhance the Copilot experience, emphasizing agility in development and optimisation.
