Far Cry 4 now runs at 60 frames per second (fps) on PlayStation 5. Released 11 years ago, the game’s latest update (Version 1.08) brings a significant improvement, enhancing the gaming experience for PS5 players.

Previously, the game ran at 30fps, but now it offers smoother gameplay with 60fps support, making it a great time for new and returning players to dive into the action.

Far Cry 4 upgrades

Based in the vibrant Himalayas, Far Cry 4 allows players to venture into a huge open world, with exciting combat, hunting, and exploration. The game's narrative is about Pagan Min, one of the most iconic villains in the series, who tests players as they move through the stunning yet treacherous landscape.

The 60fps upgrade tracks behind other Ubisoft games, such as Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Assassin's Creed Origins, which saw similar performance boosts on newer consoles.

Meanwhile, fans of the Far Cry series were eagerly awaiting similar boosts to other games, such as Far Cry Primal and Far Cry 3.

However, some were left disappointed, with one user commenting they had only just achieved the game's platinum trophy days before the update.

Ubisoft's move to re-release older games is part of its plan to give new life to classics. This comes on the heels of the company recently trying to bring its brands, such as Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell, back into the limelight.

Moreover, Ubisoft's future is doubtful following recent hardships, but initiatives like this prove they're not done enhancing gameplay experiences.

The inclusion of 60fps support for PS5 on Far Cry 4 could give players the chance to play the game in its finest incarnation so far, and this may be a step toward further upgrading other popular Ubisoft games.
