
Mira Murati, Former OpenAI chief technology officer (CTO) who departed from the ChatGPT manufacturer last month, has reportedly started fundraising for her new artificial intelligence (AI) startup.
According to Reuters, Murati’s new AI venture is expected to focus on producing AI products based on proprietary models and it is likely to raise $100 million in this round, however; the figures are currently tentative.
Murati’s departure from OpenAI was followed by the departure of two more top officials of the company including Barret Zoph, a prominent researcher who is now expected to be involved in the new startup.

While announcing her departure, Murati took to X (Formerly Twitter) and said that OpenAI has “fundamentally changed how AI systems learn and reason through complex problems and I’m stepping away because I want to create the time and space to do my own exploration” and she kept her further plans under wraps.
Murati served OpenAI for almost six years and successfully developed highly popular AI models including ChatGPT, and more. She even worked as an Interim CEO during OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s ouster.
Murati rose to prominence due to her dedication and cemented her position as the top executive in the advancing realm of AI.
