Pakistan Railways has completed major upgrades at two key stations — Faisalabad and Gujranwala — as part of its ongoing transformation drive.
Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi inaugurated the newly upgraded Faisalabad station on Wednesday. The minister said that the Faisalabad station's waiting lounge can now accommodate more than 500 passengers, adding that the local business community played a major role in funding and supporting the advancement of the station.
"We're committed to reviving Pakistan Railways with modern infrastructure, technology, and service standards," said Abbasi, adding that Rawalpindi station will be inaugurated soon to provide passengers with a comfortable and relaxed travel experience.
People will now get free Wi-Fi service at five major stations, which include Faisalabad, Lahore, Multan, Karachi, and Rawalpindi.
The renovated site, named 'Adabi Bethak', features a reading corner and a modern cafeteria inspired by Lahore's iconic Pak Tea House, which is set to give the citizens a new cultural and intellectual feel.
With the upgrade of Faisalabad railway station, people will not only have improved travel but also a comfortable experience without any issues, according to Pakistan Railways.
