Geely, a China-based leading automobile manufacturer, joined hands with DeepSeek to integrate advanced artificial intelligence (AI) into its smart car systems, advancing human-computer interaction and autonomous driving features.

By integrating DeepSeek’s R1 AI model with Geely’s existing vehicle systems, the company aims to make its smart cars more intuitive, responsive, and efficient.

This partnership focuses on distillation training, a process where DeepSeek’s AI refines Geely’s Xingrui car control system to optimise performance and user experience.

With the integration of AI solutions, smart vehicles will be able to understand driver behaviour better along with enhanced voice recognition, and improve predictive driving capabilities, creating a more seamless and intelligent interaction between the driver and the car.

As US sanctions on China tighten, Chinese companies are turning to domestic AI solutions to drive innovation. DeepSeek’s AI is not only being included in smart cars but is also making its way into PCs, robotics, and other industries.

This shift reflects China’s strategy to reduce reliance on foreign technology and develop a self-sufficient AI ecosystem.
