Gemini is already a powerful tool, but it improves when connecting with other platforms using extensions. Extensions are add-ons for Gemini through which new abilities are added. For instance, the Google Flights extension enables Gemini to serve real-time flight information.
So far, there are extensions for Google Hotels, Maps, and YouTube, but six new ones are coming, with some that haven't been announced yet. The new extensions will give more features to Gemini and increase its usability.
In the latest test version of the Google app version 15.29.34.29 beta, it was noticed that six new extensions will be added to Gemini, of which three have not been officially announced yet.
New extensions
Home
Control smart home appliances like lights and switches.
Phone
Make phone calls without needing Google Assistant.
Utilities
Interact with phone settings and apps, such as taking photos, opening apps, and adjusting volume.
Keep
Write down quick reminders, ideas, or tasks.
Tasks
Through this extension, users will be able to manage their tasks.
Calendar
This extension will help users to manage calendars.
These new extensions impart powerful advanced features to Gemini, making it a powerful tool to get several things done. With the Home extension, you will have the ability to control your smart home devices right from Gemini.

The Phone extension will enable you to make those calls without switching to Google Assistant. There will be Utilities for quick access to phone settings and apps.
How it works
The new add-ons would perfectly integrate into Gemini and enable you to have access to and manage all types of functionalities and applications just with your voice. For instance, saying, "Hey Gemini, turn on lights in the living room," controls the lights throughout the house. "Hey Gemini, give me Mom's number" works for make-calls too.
The new extensions will make Gemini even more of an important, must-have tool for every serious Google user. The ability to control their smart home devices, make phone calls, and deal with phone settings and applications has positioned Gemini as that one assistant that gets it all done. This will keep users on top of daily to-do lists and activities, further expanding Gemini's prime efficiency as a leader among virtual assistants.
Availability
The new extensions are expected to roll out soon, although an exact release date has not been announced. Google will likely release them gradually, starting with the Home and Phone extensions.
