Google has released an update to its Chrome app for iOS devices, including iPhone and iPad, introducing a more seamless account-switching experience tailored for enterprise users.

The update specifically targets individuals who need to toggle between personal and managed work accounts on iOS devices.

With this update, Google aims to make switching between personal and managed work accounts easier.

The integrity and confidentiality of work-related activities will be preserved by the updated Chrome app, which ensures that data for managed accounts stays apart from personal accounts.

The browser keeps work-related information such as tabs, browsing history, passwords, and local data strictly within the managed account, while personal browsing data stays tied to the user’s personal account.

Moreover, personal information stays contained within the individual account, avoiding any possible cross-contamination.

In addition to account switching, Google is expanding its Chrome Enterprise capabilities on iOS. Organisations can now access enhanced reporting features, which allow security-related events to be sent to the Google Admin console or Chrome logs.

Businesses will be able to keep a more thorough check on their security posture and react to possible threats more skillfully.

Furthermore, URL filtering is being introduced, giving IT teams the ability to block access to unapproved websites, reinforcing enterprise-level security controls on iOS devices.
