YouTube has unveiled a new feature, "Pause," designed to empower creators and moderators by allowing them to temporarily halt new comments on videos while preserving existing ones.
Enhancing comments management
Rather than opting for a complete comment shutdown or manual review, creators now have the option to use the "Pause" setting to temporarily suspend comments.
This provides a window to address trolls and negativity at a more convenient time, offering increased control over the comment section.
User feedback and streamlined settings
YouTube's experimentation with the "Pause" feature, initiated in October, has yielded positive feedback. Creators within the experiment group reported feeling less overwhelmed by comment management and experiencing enhanced flexibility.
Additionally, YouTube has revamped the names of some comment moderation settings, opting for clearer labels like "On," "None," "Hold All," and "Off" to simplify user understanding.
