YouTube Shorts was YouTube's response to the popularity of Instagram Reels and TikTok, aiming to incorporate short-form vertical videos into the platform. YouTube's short length is limited to a maximum of  60 seconds.

They provide YouTube creators with an opportunity to diversify their content offerings and attract more subscribers. Similar to Reels and TikToks, Shorts can be viewed on full screen and have a maximum length of 60 seconds.  You have the option to create Shorts by combining multiple 15-second videos or by recording a single continuous video.

These videos must be in a vertical orientation, with a 9:16 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels. When it comes to audio, you can include music from YouTube's library or other videos.

It's worth noting that if a Short utilises music from the YouTube catalogue, it will be restricted to 15 seconds. Also, any YouTube content whose length is 60 seconds or less in duration will automatically be categorised as a Short.
