Google has announced an Extended Repair Program for the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL, offering users free display replacements if their devices show specified screen issues.
In a statement, Google said the programme applies only to devices exhibiting a vertical line running from the top to the bottom of the screen, or displaying persistent flickering.
These issues must be verified by an authorised repair centre before a phone becomes eligible for a free display replacement.
The repair support extends for a period of up to three years from the original retail purchase date, giving extra time and flexibility for Pixel users to get their devices fixed.
Moreover, the tech giant has made it clear that not all units will qualify. Phones suffering from a cracked screen, damaged cover glass, or liquid intrusion signs aren't entitled to the Extended Repair Program.
Customers have the alternative of using a standard warranty, if valid, or opting for a paid out-of-warranty service.
As of now, the repair program is in action, and the customers can avail services either from the Google walk-in centres, the authorised service partners, or via online repair channels.
Repairs under this extended program will include a 90-day warranty, ensuring users continue to receive reliable support after the fix.
Google also clarified that the repair extension only applies to the vertical line and flickering issues, not expanding any coverage for unrelated hardware problems.
