Receiving your daily dose of news on multiple topics has become quite easier in contrast to the past few years because of Google News. Users instantly receive the latest news from the selected sources immediately delivered to them with the additional convenience of Android’s home screen widgets.

However, the app doesn’t utilise several visual changes, but it seems to be gearing up for a bigger upgrade soon, one that eliminates and rearranges a few items in the navigation bar.

According to the Android Authority, the Google News app’s navigation bar is expected to lose one of its options from For you, Headlines, Following, and Newsstand.

Don't expect to see this change anytime soon.

The reduction is going to be a major update by the Alphabet-owned Google, but it’s reportedly under development so it is expected to be released after some time.

Moreover, the Home tab is currently not operative so its content is ambiguous. Presumably, the app is likely to amalgamate the content of both existing tabs including For you and Headlines tabs.

However, both the tabs are for different purposes.

For you tab: It’s a customised collection of news items

Headlines tab: It’s for a generic summary of the major news of the big news stories for an extensive comprehension of recent events.

All of these details are yet to be confirmed by the Alphabet-owned ahead of the release of update.
