The Google Pixel 9a is the latest budget-friendly smartphone from Google, offering clean software, good performance, and an impressive camera.

However, a recent issue with the Pixel 9a front camera annoyed some early users. The problem caused a flickering preview when using the selfie camera, especially in low-light settings.

Many users noticed the camera preview would flicker between two brightness levels before taking a photo. While this didn’t affect the final image, it was a distraction for users trying to frame their selfies.

Some people even rolled back their software to avoid the glitch. However, there’s good news that Google has released an update that fixes the issue for good.

The recent Pixel Camera app update (version 9.8.102.748116395.16) eliminates the flicker entirely. After trying it out, experts verified that the selfie preview remains stable and the camera exposure no longer jumps.

Moreover, the actual pictures still look wonderful, just as previously. This remedy is now available to everyone, so if users were experiencing this problem, they must check their Play Store and update the app.

There are still some small bugs being reported while taking macro photos, but generally, the Pixel 9a camera bug seems to be fixed. If users are interested in knowing what's coming next, they can test the Android 16 Beta on the Pixel 9a.
