
Google, the Alphabet-owned company has reportedly engaged in a conversation with the parent company of Ray Ban sunglasses with the intent to integrate Gemini in the upcoming smart glasses. However, Google is currently affiliated with Meta for Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.
According to the Financial Times, Meta has also approached Ray-Ban creators EssilorLuxottica in order to obtain approximately a 5% stake in the company.
While further reports claimed it “extremely unlikely” that Meta would dissociate with Google, however, Meta is expected to invest in eyewear makers EssilorLuxottica.

Additionally, the Alphabet-owned company is under the spotlight because of its continuous development of its XR platform for power headsets and smart glasses.
It has recently collaborated with Qualcomm and South Korean tech giant Samsung for a device which is expected to be unveiled in 2025.
So even if Google collaborates with the parent company of Ray-Ban, it would still require a lengthy period to release the smart glasses.
