Slated to be held on August 13, the highly anticipated 2024 Made by Google event is just around the corner where Google is expected to unveil several devices including the Pixel 9 series, Pixel foldable, and Android 15.

Google is known for building multiple apps to virtually do tasks like its five messaging apps. Similarly, it seems like the search giant is making a new weather app that is likely to debut alongside the upcoming Pixel 9

The new weather app will be a part of the existing Pixel Weather app that was previously only used to provide weather information for the clock app.

As we have got to see the non-final version of the app shared by Android Authority, This is what Google is planning to update in its new weather app.

Pixel 9 weather app with simpler look

The first thing a user would notice when opening the app is how minimally and simply the app is designed. The background is also quite simple running from the top to the bottom of the screen in a colour matching the current weather conditions.

Moreover, the most prominent element on the app is the current temperature text, written in bold font that is represented by an icon instead of the degree symbol.

Redesigned cards on weather app

Below the temperature, there are familiar cards that provide all the information about the weather app such as hourly and 10-day forecasts, humidity, sunrise and sunset, wind, UV index, and pressure.

However, the new development in the cards is that they can be permanently repositioned by holding them down and moving them around.

Although the app will be available on the Pixel 9 first and will make its way to older Pixel phones as well, but later.
