
Rockstar Games, the maker behind globally acclaimed action-adventure Grand Thief Auto (GTA), has announced to pull the curtain off the much-awaited Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 beside a trailer on 5 December.
While uncertainty is looming as to when the game will actually be out, the announcement placed the game one step closer to being released upcoming addition to the gaming series.
The developers released Grand Theft Auto 5 ten years ago which sold more than 185 million copies, proving to be the second best-selling video game ever after the skyrocketing popularity of Minecraft.

Earlier, the renowned gaming studio Rockstar altered its official website, indicating a potential rebranding of its long-standing Rockstar Social Club ahead of the anticipated unveiling of Grand Theft Auto 6 in December.
Rockstar Games' shared the announcement of the trailer launch on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, which gathered around 145 million views within 48 hours only, indicating the extent of acclaim it’s going to embrace and the excitement among the fans.
Although the official announcement confirmed that its production was kicked off in February 2022, it seems that Rockstar Games has been working on GTA 6 for a while.
According to Sam Houser, the president of the company, the release of the trailer was planned in December to align it with the company's 25th anniversary.
In a separate development, Rockstar has partnered with Netflix to bring some of its games to the streaming service. GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas, which are loved by gamers, will be available to Netflix subscribers on mobile devices starting on December 14.
This will be the sixth major addition to the GTA series with various other spin-offs and releases on different platforms since 1997, when the first game in the series called, GTA Vice City, came under the limelight.
