Honor, the former subsidiary of Huawei, has launched its new flagship series —the Honor 100 — in China. The series includes two models, the Honor 100 and the Honor 100 Pro, which feature some impressive features and specifications. Here are some of the highlights of the Honor 100 series.

Honor 100: Display and design

  1. Both the Honor 100 and the Honor 100 Pro feature a 6.78-inch quad-curved OLED display with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of 120Hz.
  2. The display also supports 3,840Hz PWM dimming, which reduces eye strain and flickering.
  3. Honor 100 series has a plastic frame with a glass back and a rectangular camera module.
  4. Honor 100 has a dual rear camera setup, while the Honor 100 Pro has a triple rear camera setup.
  5. Honor 100 series comes in various colours, such as purple, black, white, and blue.

Honor 100: Performance and battery

  1. Honor 100 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, which is a new mid-range chipset from Qualcomm that offers improved performance and efficiency over the previous generation.
  2. Honor 100 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which is the latest flagship chipset from Qualcomm that boasts a 5nm process, a Kryo 780 CPU, and an Adreno 730 GPU.
  3. Both the Honor 100 and the Honor 100 Pro have 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.
  4. The Honor 100 series has pack a 5,450mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging.
  5. The Honor 100 series runs on Android 14 with Magic OS UI on top.

Camera and other features

  1. Honor 100 series has a 50-megapixel primary rear camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS).
  2. Honor 100 Pro also has a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom.
  3. Honor 100 series has a 50-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.
  4. Honor 100 series has dual speakers, NFC connectivity, an IR blaster, and an X-axis linear motor for haptic feedback.
  5. Honor 100 series also supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB Type-C.

Price and availability

Honor 100 series is available in China, with prices starting at CNY 2,499. The Honor 100 Pro is available in different variants, with prices starting at:

  1. 12 GB + 256 GB: CNY 3,399 
  2. 16 GB + 256 GB: CNY 3,699 
  3. 16 GB + 512 GB: CNY 3,999 
  4. 16 GB + 1 TB: CNY 4,399 

The Honor 100 series is a major upgrade over the Honor 90 series, which was launched in May 2023 with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and a 6.72-inch OLED display. The Honor 100 series competes with other flagship smartphones from brands like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Samsung, and Vivo.
