Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has introduced the free solar panel scheme, a revolutionary initiative aimed at reducing electricity costs for low-consumption households. This scheme provides free solar panel installations to eligible consumers, easing them to transform to renewable energy.

This scheme is set for households consuming up to 200 electricity units per month. The government will give free solar energy solutions, letting beneficiaries cut down on their electricity bills and enjoy sustainable power.

It is important to note that this programme will roll out in phases, with the first phase installing over 94,000 solar panels between March and July.

Additionally, Punjab’s 43 jails will be switched to solar power as part of the government’s broader energy-saving strategy.
