Huawei has officially unveiled a new “Nearlink Search” feature for the Mate X6 foldable. The feature has begun rolling out and will soon reach the respective phone users.
The newly introduced feature primarily improves device location services and makes them efficient.
“Nearlink Search” is a new generation of short-range wireless connection technology. It is a set of standards to merge the benefits of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to offer significantly stronger performance than the traditional connectivity methods.
When enabled, the feature will display an arrow housed in a circular frame on the phone’s screen. Users are required to lift the device and move it in the indicated direction.
The “Nearlink Search” helps you to find your phone even when it is switched off. It is important to note that the feature will only work for up to 48 hours after the phone’s turn-off state.
Here’s a guide on how to access the “Nearlink Search” feature on Huawei devices:
- Open the Settings app
- Go to the Huawei Account
- Select the Cloud option > Find Device
The company has said that users need to ensure that the Huawei Mate X6 is running on the HarmonyOS 4.3.0.155 or the HarmonyOS NEXT 5.0.0.126 version.
Apart from the Huawei Mate X6, the feature is compatible with the MatePad Pro 13.2 2025 tablet. It’s expected to reach more devices soon.
