Hyundai Ioniq 9 revealed: Latest electric SUV with ample space, style, and power

Hyundai Ioniq 9 has been unveiled by the company as its latest electric SUV. The EV comes in a signature Parametric Pixel design as is traditional in all other Ioniq models. 

The front fascia of the Hyundai Ioniq 9 comprises LED lights that are below a full-width light bar. Its rear features Pixel-designed vertical brake lights including a large rear glass panel. 

Its silhouette remains true to its concept car, with a long roofline and distinct body lines. Hyundai describes it as “lounge-like,” wherein it features a flat floor for the maximum space. The wheelbase is nine-inch longer with the roofline being 1.6 inches higher.

The vehicle comes with a six to seven-seat configuration, it has swivelling second-row captain’s chairs available. Hyundai Ioniq 9 provides optional “Relaxation Seats” for reclining, including a sliding centre 7.5 inches console that offers storage access to first and second rows. 

The interior dashboard entails a dual 12-inch curved display screen, physical climate, and volume controls, not to mention USB-C ports in all three rows to connect with the high-voltage battery. 

Key specs of the Hyundai Ioniq 9 are based on Long Range RWD with a single 215-hp motor on the rear axle and dual motor with 215-hp and 94-hp front axles to ensure fast accelerations.

Hyundai Ioniq 9 is equipped with 110.3-kWh, with a Targeted Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) range of over 300 miles for all configurations. 

The car is capable of 800-volt architecture that allows 10-80% charge in ~20 minutes on a 350-kW DC fast charger. Hyundai is equipped with North American Charging Standard (NACS), which makes it easily portable with Tesla Supercharger access.

Hyundai Ioniq 9 comes with 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds with 21-inch wheels, a long-range AWD with 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds, and an RWD model offering 0-60 mph in 8.4 seconds with 19-inch wheels. 

The pricing is expected which aligns with the Kia, which is EV9: $56,395 - $80,000+ depending on trim and options. In the first half of 2025, it will be available in Korea and the United States, it will later on launch to the rest of the world.
