Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) announced on Wednesday an extension of the due date for payment of electricity bills for batch nos. 2, 3, 4, 24, 27, 28, and 29.

Citing a press release issued by the government-owned power distribution company, The News reported that after the extension, the new date for power consumers in the federal capital and its surrounding areas to pay electricity bills is November 29.

As per the circular no. 1111-26 issued on November 27 by the Iesco chief engineer CSD, the decision of deadline adjustment was made in light of the law and order situation, restricted thoroughfares as well as internet throttling, and similar issues that gripped the entire Punjab region for a few days since November 23.

With the revised due date for fulfilling payment obligations, electricity consumers can now clear their bills without worrying about time constraints and incurring any additional charges.

The publication also noted that all revenue offices located within the jurisdiction of Iesco, authorised banks, and post offices have been notified of the revision in the deadline to pay electricity bills.
