To put an end to the gloom looming over Pakistan International Airlines's (PIA) penetration into Europe, the national flag carrier is set to resume direct flights to Paris on January 10, 2025, after four years.
Citing sources, ProPakistani reported that two flights per week would be scheduled between Islamabad and Paris.
With the aircraft PK749 slated to take off at 12:00pm on January 10, carrying over 300 passengers, it's worth mentioning that the first flight from Islamabad to Paris will be closely observed by Minister for Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif, PIA’s acting CEO Khurram Mushtaq, and the Secretary of Aviation.
Following the departure of the flight marking the beginning of an era of thriving business, tourism, and mended ties, key officials of the national airline will observe a send-off ceremony.
"The Boeing 777 will depart for Paris fully booked, and the upcoming four flights are also fully reserved in advance," said a PIA spokesperson.
Besides the resumption of flights to one of the key regions, PIA also announced penetration to new domestic and international routes, as the national airline is gearing up to operate twice-weekly flights between Sialkot and Bahrain.
Similarly, a weekly flight between Lahore and Kuwait is also scheduled to commence on January 25. Two weekly flights from Lahore to Dammam will also be observed from January 22.
