Following a brief outage that lasted several hours, the most used Meta platforms including Facebook and Instagram have been restored in most part of the world.

The outage began on Monday at around 1:00pm ET (10:00am PT) when netizens took to other social media platforms to bring to light difficulties they were faced with while accessing the platforms.

Facebook, Instagram no longer down

The current status on Downdetector.com —a website which tracks outages by collating status reports— indicates that Facebook's deadlock has been resolved.

However, the outage tracking platform earlier reported that complaints lodged by Facebook users surged past 12,000 with over 5,000 reports coming from Instagram users, as depicted in the image provided above.

It should be noted that Downdetector relies on user-submitted reports, meaning that the results posted there are bound to vary compared to other outage tracking sites.
