It seems that Meta is on the verge of facing widespread backlash as countless Instagram users have taken to social platforms, venting out frustration over a surge in mistakenly banned or suspended accounts.

Many Instagram users suspected AI automation to be behind this unexpected failover. Despite numerous user complaints on platforms like Reddit and X (formerly Twitter), Meta has not yet issued an official statement regarding the problem.

In light of reports, Instagram users' accounts are purportedly being banned without having violated the platform's terms of service.

Those who have submitted appeals reportedly received no response, as reported by TechCrunch.

“I’ve already submitted multiple appeals, uploaded my ID, and tried reaching out to Meta through all the official channels, but I’ve been completely ignored. It feels like I’m shouting into a void,” one user lamented.

Given the Instagram community on Reddit focusing intensively on the ban wave for weeks, the situation appears to have escalated gradually.

On the other hand, X users are urging Instagram to address the suspensions or acknowledge the problem publicly. To get the grave bans looked into, a Change.org petition has gained over 4,000 signatures, with some users even threatening to file a class action lawsuit against Meta.
