Ahead of the impending release of the iPhone 16 series later this year, numerous rumours and reports have begun surfacing, claiming this and that about the upcoming, top-tier variant to Apple's iPhone series.

Joining in the stretched thread of speculations on the internet, a credible source based in Korea has claimed that the iPhone 16 Pro models will feature a whopping storage capacity inside its maxed-out variant.

According to a news aggregator account "yeux1122" on the Naver Blog — a South Korean blogging platform for general public — the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have double the maximum storage capacity compared to the iPhone 15 Pro models, as reported by Gadgets360

What adds credence to this rumour is that the blogger is a serial leaker who, in the past, made pretty accurate claims about various Apple products ahead of their launch.

How much storage will iPhone 16 Pro models offer?

Apple's adoption of QLC NAND technology could potentially enable the company to increase storage capacity in a smaller form factor at a lower cost compared to the current Triple-Level Cell (TLC) NAND used in iPhones.

However, QLC NAND has slower read and write speeds. It's noteworthy that there were previous rumours about the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro offering 2TB storage options, though they turned out to be false.

Nevertheless, there are expectations for Apple to introduce a new "Capture Button" on the iPhone 16 models for video recording, as reported by The Information

This addition aims to further position the iPhone as a viable camera option for capturing horizontal video, suggesting that higher storage options may be part of this strategy.
