Just over two weeks later, the rumour mill seems to be powered and generating buzz around the iPhone 17 series which will debut next year.

Although it's a fair argument to ask why one should even consider the next iPhone series when the latest one just debuted, it gets overshadowed by a recent iPhone 17 leak which has doubled the excitement among iPhone freaks.

Android Headlines reported that Ross Young, a proficient leaker, has emerged on the scene with insights into the display of the iPhone 17 series.

The tipster claimed that the iPhone 17 and the slimmer variant of the lineup, expected to be called iPhone 17 Slim or iPhone 17 Pro, will feature 120Hz displays, bringing to the table the rarest form of refresh rates in the category of top-notch smartphones.

Holding a track record of teasing the most accurate details about iPhones, his came-true prediction of 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screens on the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, respectively, is what adds significant credibility to the latest claim about the iPhone 17 lineup.

iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air (or iPhone 17 Slim) might feature a 120Hz refresh rate

The development was brought to light by the tipster on X (formerly Twitter), writing in a tweet that the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air —or whatever Apple decides to name it— will flaunt 120Hz refresh rates.

Both of the yet-to-release iPhone models' displays will be augmented by the ProMotion technology, which is said to make them deliver 120Hz screen refresh rates.

If it comes to fruition, the top-of-the-line refresh rates will mark double what the new iPhone 16 and 16 Plus offer: up to a 60Hz screen refresh rate.
