Apple's iPhone models have been consistently recognised for their premium build quality, performance, and camera upgrades.

Every year, fans await news on the new iPhone. According to some new leaks, Apple plans to change the designs of its iPhone camera and display starting with the rumoured iPhone 17 and iPhone 19.

Popular leaker DCS on Weibo, from China, had shared details about the changes indicating that Apple is planning a major redesign of the rear camera.

According to DCS, the iPhone 17 coming in 2025 could ditch the square camera island for a horizontal bar-type format. This would allow for a potentially larger 48 MP ultrawide lens, as well as a new 200 MP main camera, potentially similar to newer flagship Android phones like the Vivo X200 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

While these ultra-high-end sensors are typically only found on periscope zoom cameras, these sensors are still extraordinary and rare because of the costs involved.

For 2026, the leaker suggests that Apple could take the iPhone display and other features even further by hiding the Face ID sensors under the display, only leaving one punch-hole camera. This could potentially debut with the iPhone 17 or 18.
