In light of the company's announcement, it seems that top-of-the-line OnePlus phones are now compatible with being interconnected with flagship Apple devices like iPhones and MacBooks with the newly launched Android 16-based OxygenOS 16 update.

Being the biggest improvement, OxygenOS 16 lets users share photos between OnePlus and iPhone, sync notifications with Apple Watch, and control Macs or Windows PCs via the O Plus Connect app.

OnePlus' new OxygenOS 16 update has also integrated an assortment of iPhone-inspired features, apart from the Google Gemini integration.

While OnePlus' Android 16 version brings AI tools, enhanced customisation options, and improved performance, another notable update is the integration of Mind Space with Google’s Gemini AI Assistant.

Prior to this, Mind Space was only capable of saving screenshots, but now, under the new OxygenOS 16 update, it allows users to store long screenshots and record 60-second voice memos. Gemini can utilise this information to create personalised travel plans based on saved hotels and flight details.

When will OxygenOS 16 be released?

OxygenOS 16 started rolling out, in the beta form, today on October 17, with the stable version first releasing to the OnePlus 15. Older models will follow.

The update also introduces new lock screen customisations, reminiscent of Apple’s iOS 16 design flexibility.

OxygenOS 16 also offers smoother animations and a stylish Optical Light effect, likely a copy of Apple’s Liquid Glass.
