The government of Pakistan on Friday decreased the price of petrol by Rs0.50 per litre to Rs255.63 per litre.
According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the rate of high-speed diesel (HSD) is decreased by Rs5.31 per litre to settle at Rs258.64.
On the other hand, the price of light diesel oil is dropped by Rs2.47 per litre to Rs151.73 and kerosene oil by Rs3.53 to Rs168.12 per litre.
It is important to note that the new prices of all petroleum products are effective from March 1.
"The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has worked out the consumer prices of petroleum products in view of the fluctuations in the international market in the last fortnight," the statement issued by the Finance Division.
