Meezan Bank introduces FCY Debit Card for exporters and freelancers

FCY Debit Card can be used for retail purchases all across globe, withdrawing cash from Mastercard-powered ATMs

Meezan Bank has unveiled a Foreign Currency (FCY) Debit Card for exporters and freelancers holding an Exporters’ Special Foreign Currency Account (ESFCA) with the bank to streamline international transactions. 

The FCY Debit Card is powered by Mastercard. This card can be used for several purposes, such as retail purchases all across the globe, withdrawing cash from Mastercard-powered ATMs, and allowing users to make cross-border transactions, eliminating the need for central bank approval. 

The card supports contactless payments at retail outlets due to it features NFC capability. In addition, it offers real-time expense tracking, enabling users to monitor and manage their finances efficiently. 

While underscoring the significance of the card, Meezan Bank Group Head of Consumer Finance Syed Iftikhar ul Haq said: “Whether you’re travelling, shopping online, or conducting business internationally, this debit card streamlines the payment process and provides a secure, efficient way to manage transactions across borders, ensuring peace of mind wherever you go.”

This launch of the FCY Debit Card comes just a week after Visa (NYSE: V) announced its collaboration with Meezan Bank to unveil the Meezan Visa Student Debit Card. It is important to note, this card is available for free to Meezan Student Account holders.
