Microsoft has officially announced the release of Xbox Gaming Copilot for Windows 11 PCs, giving players a powerful AI gaming assistant within the Windows Game Bar.

Gamers in select regions have also been testing this feature for the past month, but it's now rolling out worldwide (except mainland China) and will be available in the Xbox mobile app on both iOS and Android in October.

Xbox Principal Program Manager Taylor O’Malley “Starting today, PC players will begin to notice Gaming Copilot in their Game Bar experience as it is rolled out over the next couple of weeks."

Moreover, soon gamers will also be able to use the AI assistant on their phone as a secondary screen for greater ease of asking tips and insight without entering the game.

The Xbox Gaming Copilot widget allows you to use voice commands to chat with the AI, ask questions about games, request recommendations, and see your recent Xbox achievements.

Perhaps one of the more impressive features is the ability to analyse in-game screenshots so that answers can be provided; for instance, you could ask a question about a boss fight or strategy without typing or even pausing the game.

According to Microsoft, Gaming Copilot will also be optimised for its upcoming Xbox Ally handheld gaming devices, and eventually be available on

The long-term vision is to turn Gaming Copilot into a personal AI gaming coach, offering tailored gameplay tips and strategies.
