The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has added a new feature in its Pak ID mobile app, enabling citizens to register births and deaths.
The new service was first launched in Jhelum, Chakwal, and Nankana Sahib in a bid to facilitate flood-affected areas struggling with disrupted administrative processes.
“Digitisation isn’t just about technology; it’s about making life easier for people,” TechJuice quoted a NADRA official as saying.
This initiative is part of NADRA’s ongoing effort to modernise citizen services. Previously, families had to make multiple trips to union council offices to register such events, often facing delays.
Now, after the integration of a series of new features, Pak ID app users can easily submit applications, upload necessary documents, and track their progress of their Nadra applications.
NADRA officials have announced plans to expand this digital service across the country, working closely with local administrations in various provinces.
This development aims to enhance record-keeping, making it more efficient, accurate, and accessible, particularly for those in remote or disaster-affected areas.
This new feature signifies a significant step towards the simplification of fundamental administrative processes for all citizens.
