The Sindh government is considering introducing a new grading system for students from classes 9 to 12, it emerged on Saturday.

Provincial Minister for Universities and Boards Ismail Rahoo said various education boards across Sindh have submitted their proposals and objections regarding the new system, adding that once the technical issues are resolved, the new grading structure will be implemented across all Sindh education boards.

He also noted that the grading system is in line with international standards to ensure fair and transparent assessment of students’ performance.

Prioritising quality education province-wide, the Sindh government is taking measures to improve academic assessment and quality, said the minister, highlighting the government’s commitment to improving the province’s education system.

Regarding the increment in fees, Rahoo maintained that any hike in student fees at public universities will be made after approval from the Sindh government.

It was also outlined that public sector universities often raise fees due to rising expenses, but the government is aiming to prevent additional financial burdens on students.
